I set a path for myself early in life, a trail made, controlled, and groomed solely on my own accord. By keep with this path I refused to divert or change course. However, today I find my self in a clearing – Unsure of my next step. Alone and lost. Eager to find that next destination. I’m forced to view the world around me. Nerve endings sensitive to feelings never felt before. Fear in place of certainty, loneliness in place of dedication. I fear that once I have found my next path, I will miss the freedom that this clearing offers. For even though loneliness and fear loom in this abyss, my soul’s thirst is being quenched. I now understand what it means to have a spirit within.
